Welcome to Lagrasse 3 Luxury Gites in the Heart of the Corbieres

3 Luxury Gîtes with private access to River Swimming - offer an ideal year-round base to enjoy peaceful Lagrasse with its restaurants and cobbled streets. Vineyards and the surrounding hills offer superb walking, with views to the Pyrénées. Swim in river at back of house or cycle to one of the numerous Cathar castles. Mediterranean beaches and Carcassonne only 40 mins
In the heart of the Corbieres
Our three gîtes are situated in the medieval ramparts of the village. In the Middle Ages, the mansion which houses the gîtes was in fact two separate houses divided by a cobbled lane. These were combined in the 19th century - the cobbled lane was replaced by a grand stairwell and hallway with a vast glass skylight. It is this hallway that separates the Balcony gîte and the Riverside gîte (overlooking the river Orbieu) from the Market Place gîte and the games room.
One can paddle in the river at the back of the house and wander underneath the 11th century bridge. The pebble beach of the river bank is a peaceful place for children to play and adults to sunbathe. The grassy terrace overlooks the river where one can enjoy a glass of wine under the walnut tree. Reclining chairs and sun beds are stored in the cellar, your access to the beach. There is a BBQ and stone table with benches for outdoor dining.
The gîtes share a common entrance through the table tennis room and are otherwise totally independent. We are on hand should you want our advice on local walks or restaurants, beaches or visits.
All gîtes are equipped with kingsize beds with good quality mattresses, comfortable pillows, cotton bed linen and towels (please bring your own beach towels), hairdryer, iron and ironing board, board games, dvds, videos and books.
All the gites have television with SKY (free UK channels). Broadband internet access is available through Wi-Fi in all gites.
Cot and highchair available on request.
Sorry, No Smoking inside the building - There is free parking in the village and you can unload your luggage outside the house should you be unable to park on the market square

The Riverside gîte is on the first floor and has a wonderful view across the river to the Mediterranean hillside opposite. There is a wood burning stove and central heating for winter breaks.
The kitchen/living room (16'x20') is well equipped including dishwasher, microwave, oven and gas hob, coffee maker, toaster and good quality kitchen ware.
Dining room table to seat 6 to 12.
There are two comfortable sofas (one folds out into a bed) a television and video with SKY (free channels), and a radio/cd player.
The bathroom has tiled walk-in shower and a bath. There is another WC and washbasin on the landing and washing machine.
Both Bedrooms have Kingsize beds. The family room also has an antique extra large single and a single futon chair/bed.
You can watch for the kingfisher from the window or read a book in the riverside terrace garden
